Our lab is part of the Nitrogen Metabolism group at the Department of Soil Microbiology and Symbiotic Systems of Estación Experimental del Zaidín, CSIC.
We mainly study the denitrification and nitrogen fixation processes in the soybean endosymbiont Bradyrhizobium diazoefficiens, one of the most important bacteria used in Agriculture. Specially, we are interested in the identification and characterization of relevant genes and regulatory mechanisms underlying both pathways, as well as in the elucidation of possible relationships between these two antagonistic processes.
